I have always been an avid note taker -- pen/pencil and paper. I would never be able to afford a tablet, i.e., the electronic variety.
Am I to be left behind?!?!?!? Are my methods outdated and, therefore, of no spiritual benefit?

no upper governing control over its daily operations.. they proclaimed and taught what they wanted to or needed to sustain their operations as a publishing house.. .

Take your time, thedog, to digest what you've experienced here so far.
In real life, when dealing with people face-to-face, we can read them as a whole (not truly possible here). No matter their words and however expressed, we tend to read either good or ill into what they have said.
While some points made here may be valid in this or that circumstance, to make blanket assertions that cast doubt upon one's intentions and motivation shows bias. So what if one remains an elder because, for the time being, one feels this is what one must do? Is it necessary to berate that person for pursuing what he deems the correct path at this particular time? His conscience is not your conscience.

Found out about my 'marking'.
by Oneoutallout inyesterday we met up with an old ex witness friend after four years.
it was great to drop all the barriers that have stopped us all meeting recently.
apparently, it turns out that i was marked as an apostate some time ago.

Not by name, of course, I was marked during a Sunday's WT study. That was unusual in that markings are generally relegated to announcements at the evening meeting (TMS/SM).

Wow, Apo! Spot on!
How'd you get hold of my little nose-cone? It's incredible for durability and function. It is speedy on ethernet hookup (no wifi capability). The laptop is a PowerBook G4 (15-inch) and looks like the one above; however, it has speakers on either side of the keyboard. It is brilliant and FAST, even on wifi!

Thanks, Barrold -- good advice; however, both were tossed to me by friends who have the means to upgrade. I'm grateful that both do as well as they do, even if the buffering aspect is dicey. My pcs, over the years, have had problems I have yet to experience on my iMacs.
As I hear, though, there are 2 camps regarding preference. I'm fortunate to get my friends' hand-me-downs. I take anything!

The ancient desktop, which looks like a little portable TV, is OSX 10.4.11; the laptop is OSX 10.5.8. Google, which may not be Chrome, is updated on the latter and functions well, whereas, on the former, Google is an older version that functions in a limited capacity and resists my efforts to update. I believe you stated why.

Thanks for clarifying the difference between iMac and Apple. Both my laptop and desktop iMacs use Safari. Chrome, which works well on my Dell, cannot install on the former computers. I need outside help, perhaps . . .

I did some research and one website acknowledges that Windows provides superior buffering of videos compared to that of Apple computers. Since I own both type computers, I have experienced this. Even newer and, might I add, very expensive Apple computers buffer videos poorly, so I have read. I've all but given up on youtube. I believe it has something to do with Adobe software.
If you have anything to add, I'd be grateful!
